Research

 

The Research Committee in St Mary's University College is chaired by Dr Gabrielle Nig Uidhir. It has three scheduled meetings during each academic year and has responsibility for the continual advancement of a research culture within the College to cultivate a community of academic researchers who create the capacity that is commensurate with research informed teaching and learning in a higher education institution.

Research Strategy 2017-2020

The College's Research Strategy 2017-2020 presents our aims, priorities and support for research.

The aims are:

  • To ensure that engagement with research, fully integrated into the roles of Senior Lecturers, Principal Lecturers and Senior Tutors, is evidenced by research output and application;
  • To maintain and develop the College infrastructure supporting the development of research and scholarship;
  • To use staff research to enhance teaching and learning and help our students transform and extend themselves to be powerful self-directed life-long learners.
