Research Committee

The Research Committee in St Mary's University College is chaired by Dr Gabrielle Nig Uidhir. It has three scheduled meetings during each academic year and has responsibility for the continual advancement of a research culture within the College to cultivate a community of academic researchers who create the capacity that is commensurate with research informed teaching and learning in a higher education institution.

Research Strategy 2021-2024

The Research Strategy 2021-2024 sets out the College’s vision and approach to research, its aims, priorities and actions, as well as ways of measuring success.

The aims are:

• Ensure engagement in research is fully integrated into the work of academic staff
• Maintain and develop a support infrastructure that helps academic staff to engage in research
• Conduct and deploy relevant research to enhance teaching and learning, and to assist students in transforming and extending themselves to be effective self-directed lifelong learners
• Develop the existing research groups and establish an area of specialism in the study of the teaching profession
